Up to ten Saudis change their names every day. According to a source of the Agency for Civil Affairs of the Ministry of Interior of Saudi Arabia, the name change was done mainly by women.
"Most of the approvals for the name change is made for women who require more attractive names, claiming that with this they would look even more beautiful," the source was quoted as saying, reports Telegraph.
He said that although a number of names that have been changed are not related to any religious or social taboos, their holders expressed more "eager" to more modern names.
